Academic Life
Library Services

Each child at St. John the Baptist School has the opportunity to check out books from our large selection of fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, and biographies. 4th-5th-grade students visit the school library weekly for storytime, while middle school students have the opportunity to visit the library during their study hall.
Students also attend a weekly technology class in the library area where they learn typing skills, coding, word processing, and presentation, and participate in digital citizenship lessons. Students are taught how to use the internet safely and how to research data effectively. Students in grades 4th-8th are encouraged to participate in the Battle of the Books competition.
Our library provides a creative learning environment that encourages students to have an appreciation of literature, develop a love for reading, and demonstrate digital citizenship. The library partners with teachers to best meet the needs of all students and to support their current classroom curriculum.
