Join TOTUS TUUS at SJB this Summer!

Totus Tuus, a Latin phrase meaning “totally yours,” was the motto of Blessed Pope John Paul II, it signifies our desire to give ourselves entirely to Jesus Christ through the hands of our Blessed Mother Mary. It also expresses our effort to give our all to every young person we encounter.

Teams of four, two men and two women, travel to a different parish each week, hosting a five-day catechetical program for grades 1-12, similar to “Vacation Bible School.” The week is filled with faith–sound catechesis with an immersion in the sacraments and personal testimony fun–messy games, crazy skits, silly songs friendship–large and small group activities.

Annual Auction – Donations Needed ASAP!

In order for our largest fundraiser to be a huge success, we are asking for donations from every school family. Please note that all donated items must be NEW, not used and Please include the Family Donation Form when you turn in your donation item so you can be recognized for your generosity! We are hoping to collect all items with the next two weeks so the basket team can turn these donations into beautiful baskets!

Here are suggestions on what/ways to donate:

  1. Visit our Amazon wish list and select an item(s) from there.
  2. See our theme ideas for each grade in the auction packet for suggestions/ideas.
  3. Cash – cash is always helpful for a random array of auction event needs.

*Basket item donations are needed waaaaay before the auction is here so they can be logged, arranged, packaged, and advertised. Please consider dropping off your donation at the school office as soon as possible. Though we’ll keep accepting donations up to the auction date, it would be SO HELPFUL to collect as many donations as possible by March 19th! Thank you!

Volunteer award

Volunteer Spotlight

We are blessed to recognize Mary Vandenberg as our Outstanding Volunteer. Mary was presented with this award at a Mass on February 20th.

Mary, your commitment to carefully shelving the many books in the library at St. John the Baptist School each week has kept the library organized and has fostered a love for reading in our students. The care you demonstrate each week reflects your dedication to our school community. Your involvement is sincerely appreciated and makes a difference in our mission.

Your presence at the Site Advisory Council meetings each month also adds a unique and valuable perspective, enriching the discussions with your insights as an involved grandparent and parishioner. Thank you for the quiet dedication and positive influence you consistently bring to our students and staff. We are grateful to have you as a part of the St. John’s family.
